Good News For a Sick World

    Actually, it’s not a new thing to assess this world as SICK. I look back about 4375 years ago & see an angry God wiping out all of mankind except one family – Noah. About 2000 years ago a character called Jesus Christ miraculously came into this world and claimed to be God (John 1:1 & 14:9). He has changed the world then & since then, but mankind did kill him. That’s pretty SICK – man killing his creator. But today we think we are MODERN and extra intelligent with high tech gadgets, advanced education & standards of living worldwide. Yet people are still hating & killing for religious & political differences, and the threat of nuclear annilation is more present than ever. Humanity would appear to be sick. But here is GOOD NEWS:
  • God truly exists and wishes to hear us when we pray to Him, and come to Him on his terms. (But it is a CHALLENGE from above BECAUSE God is invisible. See note 44)
  • The Bible is true & it contains thousands of promises for our best interest. Accept it & be blessed by God – reject it & be judged by Him. Psalms 12:6 “The promises of the Lord are promises that are pure, as silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.”  John 12:48 “He who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.”  
  • The GOSPEL – Jesus paid for our sins & saves those who accept His atonement. My note #196 explains the Gospel more fully.
  • Miracles still happen. I personally didn’t know this till 1969 when an invisible angel steered my car when I was driving inebriated on the L.A. freeway. See “My Miracles” note #33.
  • Storms pass over after a while. This is especially true if we look up for help & answers. Isaiah 57:15 “thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. . .”
  • It is possible to have good success if you apply the formula: Faith + Self Discipline + Knowledge + Work + Money Management. See note #83.
  • Dreams can come true along with some “story book” fantasies. I will also say we are not put here for just personal entertainment, but to seek God. Some worldly dreams may appear only to show us that they are hollow.  But see Psalms 37:4 for a "rush".  
  • Santa Claus exists in the form of our Lord Jesus Christ. See note #127
  • God hears you when you cry. Angels/reception committee are present when you die. See note #1.
  • God invented dogs for people who are burned out on people. Mark Twain (a questionable character) said, “The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog.” This may seem like dry humor, but really now, some folks have been seriously taken by their fellow humans (even in the family) and prefer animal companions. See note #88.  
  • The active presence of God (the Holy Spirit) enhances life in many ways such as emotional victory, answered prayer, divine guidance, miracles, physical healing & strength, joyfulness, confidence & others. People can cultivate that Divine presence by receiving Christ’s Salvation & Spirit, Bible study, worship/fellowship, and rejection of sin & hypocrisy.

    I’ve been wanting to write a note called “The secret of the Lord” for a while now. Well, the above 11 steps to sanity & health may just be that message by accident. And sanity & health is just what we need in a Sick World like we now have. Here’s the “word” on that from David no less. “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” Psalm 25:14 KJV. Choose Jesus, He is Alive and Well, in spite of hell.
