Soul Brothers
The following paragraphs on this page were written in ‘79.  But now that the U.S. has its first ever black president, this message  may have come “full circle.”  And it does appear that we have all entered a new era as people of color represent our president each day AND as MLK himself dances in the streets of heaven.
Probably everyone is familiar with the “soul movement” to some extent.  About every day we hear soul music on the radio or TV, and soul talk - jive, if you will.  Soul food is a big thing.  Then, there is the afro hair styles which are marvelous indeed.  And of course, we have the tinted windows and low-riding in some cities.  America would not be the same without soul brothers and sisters and their unique culture.
However interesting and original the soul movement is, it is surely time we realize that we’ve all got a claim on the act in a certain sense.  Now some folks truly would have trouble sporting an afro.  Some may not honestly appreciate the ham hocks and chitlins.  But brother, the fact of the business is, you got a soul and I got a soul - that makes us “soul brothers.”  So what is a soul?  It’s a sad truth that too many folks just don’t know.
Theologians believe each person is a three - part being; body, mind and soul.  The soul is the DIVINE part and is attached to the blood.  This may explain why we feel emotions (the best of humanness) in the center of our chest and not in the head.  "The life of the flesh is in the blood . . ." Leviticus 17:11.  and when the blood flows out of the body, the soul "flows" out and returns to its maker.  I believe the soul contains a divine "memory chip" that causes the NEW body & mind to be restored to the soul after death.  This gives real value and potency to the lost/saved teaching of the Bible.  If saved, your full awareness, personality, and mind will enjoy with others the wonder of God’s supernatural city and creation in a supernatural body forever.  If lost, the same resurrected YOU will be wasted forever in a place Jesus Christ called Hell.
Soul brother, what is your status right now?  Are you stuck in the mire of today’s unbelief and under a divine curse for time and eternity?  Or are you enjoying God’s very real blessings now and the fantastic and sure promise of heaven?  These are heavy questions and apply to every one of us. Why not make your peace with God right now and become a soul brother in the highest sense.  Heaven will not be the same without YOU.  God says, “Behold, all souls are mine . . . the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”  “Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me shall never die.”  “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”  It is hoped that this message has helped some find a living faith in Christ.  If so, do get involved in a legitimate Bible-believing church where you can survive and grow as a Christian.  Scriptures referred to are:  Ezekiel 18:4,
John 11:25-26, 14:2-3 respectively.   KJV and RSV
